Build the future with us.

Weathering the Storm.

On July 1, 2024, Hurricane Beryl🌀 tore through Carriacou, leaving destruction across the island. Our clinic was not spared—the building suffered severe structural damage, rendering it unusable. The landlords declined our help to rebuild and terminated the rental agreement. In effect, the only veterinary hospital on the island was gone.

The generosity of our supporters made it possible for us to keep going. Thanks to donations received immediately after the storm, we have been able to operate as a mobile clinic, house volunteers in a villa generously provided by a neighbor, and set up a temporary surgery in the basement of our director’s home.

These donations have kept us running, and they will continue to do so until our new facility is complete—hopefully by the end of 2025. But this setup is not sustainable—and now it’s time to take the next step.

Stronger, Greener & Future-ready.

When MP Hon. Tevin Andrews said, "We build back better and stronger," he meant it. With his support, the Government of Grenada has pledged land for our new clinic—just down the road from our original location. This gives us the opportunity to rebuild stronger, more sustainable, and more resilient, ensuring Carriacou’s companion animals always have access to care. Our 99-year lease is in the works!

Our vision for the new home of Carriacou Animal Hospital includes:
✅ An environmentally sustainable, storm-resistant building designed to minimize our ecological footprint while ensuring continuous care—even in extreme weather.
Adequate facilities and equipment to support a small-scale veterinary clinic offering general veterinary care, surgical treatments, and inpatient care for dogs and cats.
Improved on-site accommodation for visiting volunteer vets and nurses, enhancing efficiency, comfort, and long-term sustainability of our operations.

By building back better and greener, we are securing a future where Carriacou’s companion animals receive the care they need—no matter what challenges arise. 🌱🐾
